Northside Drafthouse & Eatery, a Staple for University of Texas at Dallas Students has Deep Roots in Finance

Blake Jutton, Owner of the Northside Drafthouse and Eatery in Dallas picked up two majors while he studied at the University of North Texas in Denton. Officially, he earned a finance degree from UNT, and learned to run pubs. Across the street from the University of Texas at Dallas, Jutton came across the space six years ago and thought, “This campus needs a hangout.”

.

Six years later, the Northside Drafthouse has established itself as UTD’s favorite local bar. But the bar’s story is a mix of finance, entrepreneurship and the world of craft brewing. It’s famous for its 50-tap selection of beers, hand-tossed pizzas, cheese curds and burgers.

.

The goal of the Drafthouse is to provide a safe environment where students can socialize and responsibly, enjoy a few beers – it’s happening. There was a hot dog eating contest on Independence Day, a new pizza is featured every week and for anyone who tries all 50 beers on tap – a commemorative shirt is awarded.

.

Jutton is our guest on this week’s 22 Questions, a Champion Equipment Finance production where we speak with local, like-minded professionals.
